Hi. We are the DeBoers. Originally from Iowa, we've been enjoying the good life in Kearney since 2011.

Originally a baby, Luke wanted to grow up to be a Yeti, but it didn't work out for him. Neither did professional soccer, the circus, or crocodile hunting. It was while Luke was a freshman at Iowa State that he first understood that there was a difference between knowing about God and knowing God personally. It was then that he surrendered his life to Christ, learning over time more and more of what it following Jesus entails. Compelled by Jesus' vision of normal, ordinary people reaching and influencing those around them for the sake of the Gospel, he joined staff with The Navigators upon graduation. Instead of wondering what could have been if he had more fur, he now dreams about UNK students, passionate for Jesus, taking the Gospel to their friends, families, and the ends of the earth.

Sarah came to Christ at a young age, and was invited into a Navigators Bible study as a college freshman. God significantly used that time to help her build strong, Biblical foundations in her walk with God. Upon graduation, she spent 2 ½ years with Navs in the land of the rising sun, seeking to bring the Gospel to the Japanese. Returning to the US, she met Luke while on staff together with Navs. It was love at first sight. For Luke, that is. Eventually the affection became mutual and they tied the knot on New Year's Eve. Now she spends much of her time reading Dr. Seuss and discussing the intricacies of potty training with their two children.
